The electric cable used consists of one or more copper conductors covered with insulating sheath. The outer sheath is made of water-proof, abrasion-resistant material. The cable is fully screened from external electrical interference and can be reinforced with polyethylene cord to withstand tensile load.
The electric cable for automated piezometers and the relative pressure transducers is also equipped with a nylon tube for atmospheric pressure
compensation. Choice of the most suitable type of cable must be made according to the following factors:
- number and type of sensors to be connected;
- environmental conditions;
- problems concerning voltage dips.
